In 2015 Captain’s Chocolate funded the growth of 10,000 Cacao trees owned, planted and tended by Indigenous Farmers in the Talamanca region of Costa Rica.  We now purchase our beans directly from these farmers, paying them double the market price – more than fair trade.  By doing so, Captain’s Chocolate Co., along with our customers, are helping their families and community thrive rather than just subsist. Please note that orders placed on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday during periods of particularly warm weather may be be prepared for shipment the following business day but held for shipment until Monday so that your order doesn't sit in an un-climate controlled Postal Service warehouse over the weekend.
