Japanese single bento box. red lacquer over black with hand painted silver and gold cranes. Perhaps with the crane motif over red, this was a wedding object. c . 1950s - 70s Size: 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 3"
The box itself is in good form, with a few small chips from the red exposing the black base layer. Very cheerful red color would be attractive accent red color for eclectic home. Or perhaps good presentation box for wedding gift or new years gift.
