Every January around Epiphany, all the pastry stores in France sell the delicious galette des roi cakes (of the kings) with a charm inside each cake, which also comes with a paper crown. The celebration nowadays in Paris is more like a social event: people have parties and invite friends and families to eat the galette des roi cake. And whoever gets the piece of cake that has the charm inside, he or she gets to wear the paper crown. It is an unique French tradition: we've been invited to those parties by our Parisian friends over the years.
