Up for your consideration is a vintage jewelry box. I am guessing it might have been for a necklace and earrings. It measures 7 3/4" x 5 1/2".
The bottom is the purple.
Pre-owned. Looking at the inside there is some spotting and the holes near the bottom show fraying.
Opens and closes well. There is light yellowish/brownish discoloration in some areas on the purple velvet.
